This thesis aims to assess to what extent electric mobility, and in particular the mass adoption of electric vehicles, constitutes a genuinely effective strategy for the ecological transition of cities. This assessment takes into account three main rebound effects linked to their deployment: the increase in distances travelled, the modal shift from public transport to electric cars, and residential relocation towards peri-urban areas. The approach integrates both environmental impacts and behavioural effects, which are often overlooked in studies on electric vehicles.
