This thesis aims to combine dynamic energy simulation and prospective LCA in order to assess the effects of bio-based materials on comfort, carbon and resources. It seeks to improve their integration into the eco-design of buildings and neighbourhoods.
Life-cycle assessment is a method to assess the environmental impacts of buildings and infrastructures throughout their life cycle, from the extraction of raw materials through to their end-of-lifetime handling.
